Aesthetic Surgery - Breast Reduction
Breast Reduction
A functional and aesthetic operation in which excess tissue, fat, and skin in overly large breasts are surgically removed, relieving shoulder-back pain and posture disorders.
About the Operation
Breast reduction (reduction mammoplasty) is an operation in which excessively large breast tissue is surgically reduced, giving the breast a smaller, lighter, and more proportionate shape. It provides both functional and aesthetic relief in macromastia, which causes chronic neck-back-shoulder pain, skin irritation, posture disorders, and activity limitations. It also includes repositioning of the areola and nipple (mastopexy).
Application Details
- 1The most common technique is the 'Wise pattern' (anchor-shaped incision) or vertical incision method.
- 2Excess breast tissue, fat, and skin are removed; the nipple and areola are moved upward.
- 3If needed, liposuction can be used as an adjunct for fat reduction.
- 4Regular mammography follow-up is recommended after surgery.
Who Is It Suitable For?
- Women experiencing chronic pain, posture disorders, or skin problems due to large breast size
- Individuals restricted in sports and daily activities due to breast size
