About the Operation
Breast augmentation (augmentation mammoplasty) is a surgical procedure in which the volume and shape of the breasts are increased by placing silicone gel or saline-filled implants in submammary, submuscular or subfascial planes. This operation, sought due to congenital developmental disorders, post-breastfeeding volume loss or aesthetic preference, is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures in the world and in Turkey.
Application Details
- 1Implant profile (round/anatomical), size, and placement plane (submuscular/submammary) are jointly determined according to the patient's anatomy.
- 2The incision site is selected from the axilla, periareolar, or inframammary fold.
- 3Submuscular placement improves mammography readability and provides a more natural appearance.
- 4For 4–6 weeks after surgery, underwire bras are not used; a special support bra is recommended.
