Dental Health - Root Canal Treatment
Root Canal Treatment
Deep root cleaning that saves a severely decayed or infected tooth by removing the inflamed nerve — without extraction.
About the Operation
Root canal treatment (endodontics) is the procedure in which severely painful and/or infected tissue that has reached the pulp chamber — the bundle of nerve fibers that supplies blood and sustains the tooth — due to deep decay or traumatic impact is cleaned out, saving the tooth by isolating it from its nerve without losing the tooth. The hollowed-out canals are sealed with organic, biocompatible filling materials, extending the tooth's functional lifespan by 15-20 years without extraction.
Application Details
- 1Performed in a virtually painless manner using the finest millimetric digital handpieces (apex locator / endomotor) with full anesthesia.
- 2Due to the weakened, de-pulped structure, the root-canal-treated tooth should typically be reinforced with a zirconia or porcelain composite crown to prevent fracture.
Who Is It Suitable For?
- All patients experiencing throbbing tooth pain that wakes them at night, hot/cold sensitivity, or chronic or acute pulpitis-type toothache
