Plastic Surgery - Extended Tummy Tuck
Extended Abdominoplasty
Unlike a standard tummy tuck, the incision extends to the hips and flanks, targeting tissues with extensive sagging beyond the central abdomen.
About the Operation
Extended abdominoplasty is a skin tightening surgery in which the sagging skin apron (pannus) is removed — skin that, following massive weight loss procedures such as bariatric surgery, hangs and folds not only at the front of the abdomen but also from the waist, extending to the love handles, lower back, and upper hip area (flanks).
Application Details
- 1While the front is flattened and smoothed, the bulging flank silhouette on the sides is simultaneously eliminated.
- 2When combined with Vaser liposuction, flank and back fat can be addressed in the same operative session.
- 3Abdominal muscle repair (diastasis recti) creates a permanent internal corset effect that sustainably slims the waist.
Who Is It Suitable For?
- Post-bariatric patients who have lost an extreme volume of body mass (40–60 kg) via sleeve gastrectomy or similar procedures
- Patients with severe skin folding and sagging not only in the horizontal plane but also in the lateral and posterior love-handle region following obesity or childbirth
- Patients who did not achieve sufficient results with a standard tummy tuck because the incision did not extend to the hips, and who still have bulging flanks
